Re: Scaling multiply Objects to same size

Creating your own shapes only takes xml, but creating your own objects with tailored properties will involve C++ coding, which is very prohibiting.

Is my understanding correct?

Norbert, the best thing of all with Dia, you can make what you want in a shape.  If you want a bounding box around a particular shape you can likely make it yourself.  Once you figure that out, you can probably reproduce it easily for other shapes.

You can even create your own properties to go with it, maybe make the background and outline of the bounding box changeable.

Warning:  I say, maybe, because I don't mess around with shape creation, so I don't have firsthand experience, many others here do.

Oops, Ok I thought that the "Objects" are similar to the Xfig objects.
Which means regarding scaling there is no difference because every object has a "bounding box"

That's  true for almost everything in live ;-)

In this special case it was the "decision" object from flow chart. This object changes its size regarding to its text.
But if you have some more of this it looks much nicer if they have the same size.

That is not the problem. It would be nice if every object has its own "bounding box" (as mentioned above) for which its height and width can be set using the property editor. (like XFig)

I tell my colleagues this all the time so shame on me. I promise to be more specific next time. :)

Thanks again

Put this question to yourself: should I use everyone else to attain happiness, or should I help others gain happiness?
Dalai Lama

To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.

A public-opinion poll is no substitute for thought.
