Hi,

Just a simple question:

- How is it possible that a software to make flowchart doesn’t
allow for simply labeling of connection lines???

Are you asking, stating or complaining? Please check out

public list in an Open Source project.

First of all you must state your question with some context as to what
you are trying to accomplish and which set of symbols you are using.
From your 'flowchart' question I am assuming you are using the
flowchart symbol sheet instead of say a UML Activity Diagram (which is
also a type of flowchart only smarter).

Dia does a lot more than simple flowcharting. It's a Diagraming tool
that happen to have a flowchart symbol sheet as well as many others
such as UML, SDL, SADT, IDEF0, Logic, Network, etc. and also the
capability to make your own sheets.

The flowchart symbol sheet does not include any specific connector
lines (unlike the UML sheet which provides specific connectors) so it
assumes you will be using one of the lines in the primitives which are
(a) Line and (b) Zigzag Line. Maybe the reason the author of the
flowchart symbol sheet did not include a line with labels is that
usually in flowcharts, only the decision rhombus require a label
mainly for Yes, No, decision points. You can place these near the
decision point or on the line itself. So just take a Text object and
place it wherever you need.

If you are using the simple line primitive you can also connect the
text to the line and add more connection points to the line as well.
Leave some blank spaces at the beginning of text label so it separates
it from the line. You can't connect text to Zigzag lines AFAIK.

Best,
