Dia locks up a lot recently,ideas?

Recently, Dia locks up on me.

Win7, Dia v 0.97.2        

I seems like I ask to much too quickly and then it hangs. Most recently I was getting the zigzag line from the palette and placing the first end and it stops responding.

I have to shut it down, and begin anew, unsaved is all lost.
