So, you created your shapes in Inkscape (or otherwise not in Dia)?
I create them by hands. It's more fool-proof and I get exactly the result I
want.
As I recall, when you draw new shapes in Dia, then export as a shape,
Dia would also create the preview icons.
The only problem, they are unreadable.
