You can use the text with outline tool - this has a rotation property you can adjust.  If you don't want outlined text you can set the outline and fill to the same color.  By its nature this doesn't work as well with small text fonts.

Moreover, I think this is a very useful feature for adding text to a diagram, unless there is a very good reason not to make text oblique in a diagram, which I don't know of and would love to hear.
