I didn't do above two actions at all. What I did is to enable Chinese (Taiwan) phonetic input method from Control Panel-> Regional and Language options. by default Dia use "sans" font, It is better to change the font to "MingLiu" before you try to type in Chinese. I did encounter type in Chinese directly without change sans to mingliu font and the Chinese characters just disappear after the enter key.
