Visual studio version and Compling Dia for Windows

Looking at http://dia-installer.de/howto/compile_msvc/index.html.
It only listed VC++ Version 6 as the compiler.

Does anyone tried the Visual Studion Express 2008 or 2003 (The free beginner version) ?
