Request for more properties in the properties dialogue box.

I use dia for drafting - linux doesn't have much in the way of open source  
drafting tools that are amateur friendly and besides, Dia is an awesome  
tool! I do ahve the problem of working out the dimensions of the objects  
that I create though, as it is time consuming to either, open a new window  
in order to start at (0,0) for the window to display the actual dimension  
(x0,1234;y0,567) and then cut and paste the object back to the old window,  
or, even worse, having to work out the dimensions by adding and  
subtracting (x1234,1985;y235,589)!! It would be lovely if I could just go  
into the properties dialogue box and just tell dia exactly the dimensions  
I want for the object. Granted each shape has it's own set of variables,  
but even if it's just the basic shapes that could be put in  
(square/rectangle; circle, line), that would be super!.
