I use Windows XP Home and Pro and never had any problems with printing. You just need to change the scale before printing to fit the whole diagram (note that there are lines that tell you where page borders are). Diagrams prints nice even on laser printers.
But I confirm that paper type settings doesn't work for me too. Maybe it was meant for something else?
