eps export with greek letters in text field

I tried to export (to .EPS file) a diagram containing greek letters (alpha, 
beta) but Dia export says "Can't convert string xx: Invalid byte sequence in 
conversion input"

I know I can export the diagram as image (say, to PNG), but I'd specifically 
need EPS (as it looks so much better in a printed LaTeX document...)

Dia ver is 0.95-1 / Win32.
