For those interested in this project, check out the DIA_0_94_DEV branch
today.  I've added the parts to the layer dialog that allows turning
connectability on and off, now the flag on the layer just needs to be
used appropriately in other places.  Patches are quite welcome.  Since
I'll be in Vienna until Wednesday, you'll have some peace to work on it.
