Re: Chosing fonts

Hi,

I got a problem choosing fonts (e.g. in Text obejects): The font pop-up
menu that opens up contains so many fonts, that the menu is higher than
my screen. Trouble is I quite frequently need symbol which is somewhere
at the bottom - thus I can't select that font. Shall I file a bug report
on that?

A quick query on bogzilla revealed no relevant bug reports, a fix to bug
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60330 (pretty old that one)
might however provide a workaround for this problem (currently possible
workarounds include: using a higher screen resolution or less fonts).

The CVS version has a entirely different approach: By default, only three
fonts (sans, serif and monospace) are shown in the menu, but new fonts can
be selected with the font selector dialog (opened via the same menu) and
fonts selected there are persistently added to the menu. Thus you get only
the fonts you actually use in the menu. If you are up to compiling it,
give it a try.
