IMHO the best thing to do is suggest them as additions to Pango
on bugzilla with your good arguments but less 'offending' ;-)
Having a link to the bugzilla bug in the source than wouldn't
hurt either. [I fear they won't be added to the official Pango
API due to ABI compatibility issues though.
Since the enum defines each entry, it doesn't break backwards
compatibility.
If you cc: me on the created bug I'll try to submit a patch for
pango/win32.
It has been done.
I have also now reverted to NORMAL_WEIGHT=0. The hacks were not as
horrible as I expected, but we now have 'Normal', 'Oblique' and 'Italic'
as the first three entries in the styles menu, even above the Ultralight.
Not sure if that is good or bad.
