For now we may need to do something clunky in the GUI like circuits 1, 2

gist) but hopefully later the GUI will have a way to nicely subcategorise
shapes. I am really optimistic about Dia and think we need an

many new symbols and renamed it Schematic. I haven't
been involved on the dia-list but maybe I should be so
this is my first release of these shapes. I really don't know
how to get these shapes intergrated into the distribution
or if that is possible or necessary but here they are.

If you cannot afford the bandwidth then open a Bug report in
bugizalla and attach the archive.
A preview screenshot (in PNG format preferably) would satisfy my desire to
examine the shape for a while.

Wow, this is beautiful! I especially like the nicely colored icons. We
should do that for the other sheets as well, it makes them so much easier
to navigate. Thank you so much for this contribution!

What was stopping me from using coloured shapes is that if you set a
colour value (rather than setting none, foreground, or background) then
users will be stuck with the colour you have choosen, unable to change it.
I dont remember if i filed a bug report (i certainly i should have done).

Some of the PCB shapes, mostly the SMD's, don't have any connection points.
Is that on purpose (he asks, with next to zero knowledge of PCB stuff).

well, every shape should probably have at least one connection point in
the centre (pain to manually work this out tho') and perhaps a few edge
connection points depending on preference).

The RCA Jacks have a white ellipse cutting out some of the circle. Is that
supposed to be that way, or are you just trying to make an arc? Arcs can
be made directly in SVG.

Some but not all of the shapes allow the line color to be set. Leaving out
the color spec from the line allows setting.

If i have time and you need further explanation ill try and explain, see
above about shape colours and look at the exisiting shapes.

Dialup sucks, gotta go.
