Two reasons: 1) not everyone wants to bring in the whole GNOME baggage. 2)
the Win32 port can't bring the whole GNOME baggage anyway (IIRC).
I'm relatively new to Gnome programming so i may not be the best
frontman for this job, but i'm willing to help.
