Lionel proposes to consider merging the login screen and the lock screen
as both are about logging in. 
In the end Allan wrote "let's continue some place else."

Did this conversation continue somewhere, and what were the results?

Asking as I think that Lionel has a good point and don't see good
arguments against it yet either.
