Having looked through your API this seems like a beautifully simple way
of achieving a relatively complex goal. Congratulations. And it's
consistent with inhibition metaphors used elsewhere in the desktop.
Let's try to avoid falling into the XSMP-trap of something overdesigned
and overcomplicated.
