OK, it's finally fixed now. Sorry for the delay.
For those curious, the main benefit of upgrading to the latest version
of Openfire (http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/openfire/index.jsp)
is that it makes it a lot easier to work on two of our most requested
features:
- Adding XMPP (Jabber) IM accounts

- Communication with the XMPP server via httpbind/BOSH
(http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0206.html)
to deal with firewalls

Though so far what I've done is just a straight upgrade.
