The main problem is that the Debian folks are parsing the text of the
license instead of reading it and trying to "feel" its spirit. This
"statement" is not even prepared to respect the freedom of the users,
since Debian still distributes non-free software in the sections
"contrib" and "non-free", downloadable from the official resources.
If it was a campaign for freedom, these unethical sections would have
been removed long ago.
I cannot imagine the GNU Emacs Manual along with the proprietary
nVidia drivers and other non-free packages. What a shame.
