http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=hal;a=blob;h=fe45668e46a5809287f5b813addbb30d9223e64c;hb=b412caf1175bf3fcea51ef1b5ed3db1e946bf0d8;f=fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-card-readers.fdi

Then icon-naming-spec needs a new maintainer if it is going to be
suitable for the way gnome-vfs works.

I also find it worrying and arrogant that you first say that "changes to
icon-naming-spec needs to be accepted by everyone and their grandfather"
only to go ahead and _break_ the spec, e.g. rename drive-cdrom to
drive-optical.

I think it's extremely on-topic to discuss why icon-naming-spec is
something we want for GNOME 2.16 when the maintainer states don't want
to take patches for something that gnome-vfs needs. I dare you to answer
the questions I posted earlier, specifically

So you want GNOME and KDE to both individually come up with the
        icon
name for e.g "Compact Flash media" because... you don't want
that kind of detail in the spec? That's broken.

and

The last thing we want is for the desktops to come up with e.g.
        media-removable-kompaktflash and media-removable-gnompactflash
because the icon-naming-theme maintainer is too stubborn to add
these to the spec. That would be broken.

Do you think you can do that? Thanks.

    David
