I think this really should go in. It is an important desktop component
to implement. While an applet works, that may just be because Apple did
it that way. Is there a better UI representation we can come up with?
(Don't misunderstand, I am actually quite happy to have an applet, but
this is something I have been wondering, since in the current applet
environment, many appletty features are undiscoverable).
