The patch doesn't apply any more and from what I was told doesn't work
either. 

>From discussion on irc and the mailing list I've found:

- only directories are cached, not icons yet
- support for unthemed icons needs to be added
- the generator doesn't work yet
- it should be rewritten in C (in python now)
- the patch and the generator don't agree on the filenames
- things need to be added to the icon theme spec

Someone else can probably fill in more here, but I just wanted to get
this out there so others can help get the ball rolling :-)
