You'd be surprised. Many of know the term MP3 but don't actually
understand it. I've heard two friends call wave files "Wave format
MP3s" for example. There's also no guarantee that users who own
equipment like an iPod know much about them other than that they're
music players. Perhaps it was given as a gift, or perhaps the consumer
just bought it because his/her friends said they're "cool."
