I'd say your nifty app should do the conversion. Converting from on
lossy format to another isn't recommended, but shouldn't give that bad
results (does it?), anyway if you put it on a portable player you'll
probably listen to this music in less than optimal listening conditions
(earphone, noisy environment, ...)
