That depends on how the cd device is opened.  IF it's a multi session cd or
opened in packet writing mode hten it does make sense to have "Save..". 
Packet writing purportedly works starting wiht Linux 2.4.  Not sure what 
state things are on bsd OS's and other unix like operating systems.
