Actually it is the acronym for GNU Network Object Model Environment.
So there will have to be five words (minimum) that need to be traslated
and then the initial letters abbreviated.
BTW: Does anyone know of a good resource to pronounce GNOME?
Audio files that could be launched off a panel button :-) are also
welcome but a good notation on pronounciation is what is needed.
like 'gggGNOME' or 'guh-nome' or 'ga-nome' etc.
In many languages (other than English) the correct pronounciation can be
written down more easily.
Regards,
Ramanan
