Well though seth disagrees with me, I still feel that just having a
single menu entry in the apps menu that brings up the nautilus view (or
control center view) would make the addition of more control panels that
are necessary, but less often used, easier to add.

OK so out of complete lack of knowledge here, from a users perspective
does a system display preference even matter if a user can choose any
resolution using randr. Or in other words is the system default really
only useful for setting a default resolution for all users by an admin,
but not really important to most other users (or home users).
