So, um... we have a very nice default applications capplet, and a very
nice API to call the default applications. Except they each use
different fricking gconf keys. So... unless you use gconf-editor, there
is no way to set the default handlers that actually get used by
gnome_url_show (at least as far as I can tell), nor do the keys set by
gnome2-default-applications-properties actually get used anywhere.
So, um... what's the solution here? Should libgnome use the other keys?
Do we resurrect the url handler capplet? Should the default applications
capplet set both sets of keys? Or should someone just point out why I'm
an idiot and how I shouldn't be writing these types of emails at 1:00am?
