with the latest releases, the gtk family should build cleanly out of the
box.

other than that, things need patching and i've slacked off (my excuse is
things are too frozen).  parties interested in running gnome 2 on darwin
should subscribe to gnome-darwin-list gnome org (which isn't on the
mailing list page).
