wouldn't it make sense to fork a gstreamer version for the moment and
backport fixes to it so at least people can switch to gstreamer and
learn the api as is now. i doub't that a big api change will be hard to
modify in gnome. it is easier forking and getting help from gstreamer
people to maintain it than dealing with esound.
