There have certainly been problems with the anonymous cvs servers
in the past. However, last I heard it was destined to be taken care of
after the 2.0.0 release. I don't know the current situation though.

Yes, but players and the like certainly fall into the category
"user-visible stuff that users of localized environments expect to be
localized".
