gnomeConf.sh is part of gnome-config script. gnome-config script has been deprecated in GNOME2 in favour of pkg-config. The software you try to compile apparently has not been ported to GNOME2.

Subject: Problem - Gnome Conf under Beta 2

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to compile some software that uses a script from Gnome
Conf.
Here is an output of my error.

checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is
generated by
gnome-libs install

I am trying to determine what this script does, and if the name or the
function of it has changed in Beta 2v1. I see from the Gnome 2 Build
order
at http://www.gnome.org/start/2.0/installation.html#buildorder that
something called GConf has been installed . Is this the same
utility/library ?

Any help or new avenues of thought as to where I can redirect my
configure
to would be appreciated.

Thanks.
