Yes, this is the hope.  When the code was originally written (a) HAL
didn't have this info and (b) there weren't any good D-Bus bindings
for Mono.  This would definitely be less hacky than our current setup,
and a patch would be welcome. :)  (The code is totally self contained,
so it would be a great first patch for someone.)
