Hi,
Ignore if you are not using beagle on FC6.
Beagle used to work fine for me on FC5, but after updating to FC6
...
beagled hangs after some time ~5-10 minutes so that I can't search the
indexes and beagle-status simply hangs to.
It seems that I am not the only one who have this problem:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=212370
For anyone using beagle on FC6 and seeing the above hang,
I checked the FC6 patches for beagle and found an xlib patch which might be
causing the problem.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=212370#c20 explains the
situation in little more detail.
In short the hang doesnt happen in the actual 0.2.10 release but by an FC6
patch which tries to smartly detect X disconnection. (beagle monitors
Xscreensaver to tune up the speed of indexing).
If you are experiencing the hang, please unset the environment variable
DISPLAY for the time being.
unset DISPLAY seems to work thx, but we still need a better fix

PS: I dont understand xlib that good but the patch seemed to have a good
intent. If they find a better solution than regular polling then it makes
sense to patch it upstream.
