OK a debug log is attached.
I also confirmed that beagle does not respond to changes in the excludes
without restarting it.
It looks like I was wrong about things being indexed that were excluded
they are just crawled and every file is ignored. Still a waste but not
as bad. I do think that it did at one point index some stuff in excluded
directories, but the FileSystemIndex was old and may have had strange
junk in it, so maybe it had to do with that. Or perhaps I was
halucinating. :-)
One reason this crawling is an issue is that it results in the creation
of a bunch of unnessisary inotify subscriptions. And on in my home
directory it takes 10min to create them all, so stopping the crawl
immeadiately when a excluded directory is encountered would shorten the
startup time a lot (since I have a bunch of kernel trees in a excluded
directory).
