Can you describe how these are incompatible?

beagle should be building against only gtk-sharp 1.0...  Perhaps there's
a problem with the .pc file?

We normally build packaged snapshots of the latest stuff in CVS, but one
of our build machines has mysteriously disappeared and they're failing
right now.  Once we get that going again we should be able to notice
breakage in CVS of these things a little faster.
