Probably you should raise a SyncronizeError, or SyncronizeFatalError (in the Exceptions module), if it is inside a synchronization process.
I dont know of any other way to present meaningful error details to the user outside the console. If the dataprovider raises an Exception, either when it's being imported or inside a synchronization, the error is shown at the console, and that process is stopped if the error is fatal. But usually, Conduit does not crash.
