Matthew, Thank you for your hints!
When I run skype with v4l1compat.so preloaded it gives
libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Invalid argument
libv4l2: error allocating conversion buffer
libv4l2: error dequeuing buf: Invalid argument
And skype gives the same "doubled-shifted" image.
Best wishes,
Sergey

Hello!
My HD camera works with Cheese, but not with GUVC Linux driver. - In
GUVC it gives a shifted-doubled image.
I want to use it with Skype, that uses the standard Ubuntu driver.
Could I use somehow the good drivers of Cheese to make it work with
Skype?
Hi,
IIRC the v4l2src GStreamer element is using libv4l[1], which could
explain why Cheese works correctly and other applications using the
driver directly don't. There's instructions on the bottom of the
linked page that tells how to make it preload and intercept calls for
applications not using libv4l (presumably Skype is one, and one that
don't let you modify it anyway).
Cheers,
