I implemented an Hebrew calendar in PHP.  PHP uses the concept of Julian
date (days since January 1, 4713 BC) as the basis for calendrical
calculations.  For example, a Gregorian date is converted to a Julian
date, and the resulting Julian date is converted to an Hebrew date.

PHP's date routines are available in C source code.
