What type of media did you use?

Note there id DVD-R and DVD-RW that would allow this and DVD+ that does not
allow it.

Just ordinary stock DVD+R.
The brand is Verbatim.

Here's console's output from my last dvd (written the other day (just
before posting here) at Windows, with a freeware utility
(CDBurnerXP)):

xorriso -outdev /dev/sr0 -toc
xorriso 1.4.6 : RockRidge filesystem manipulator, libburnia project.

DVD+R does not have the concept of "sessions" this is why I asked.

As a result, I cannot use your "xorriso" output that seems to report something
non-standard for the media.

Could you please run

cdrecord -v -media-info

and

cdrecord -v -atip

for your media, using a halfway recent cdrecord?

Note that the option -media-info has been added in August 2006 ;-)

The main problem with DVD+R is that you cannot do multi session at all on such
media and there is only the unmaintained since nearly 12 years dvd+rwtools that
implements a non-standard method to emulate multi session on DVD+RW media.
