Re: [Banshee-List] Best backup for Banshee

I'm running 2.6.1 on openSUSE, so this should be the same.

Option 1: Close Banshee and back up the database by copying it
(~/.config/banshee-1/banshee.db) and copy the file back again to restore

Option 2: Backup Banshee by dumping the data - install sqlite3 and then
run the first two commands from the "corrupt database" question in the
FAQ [1] (the third and fourth will let you restore)

To back up album art, either set Banshee to copy it to the same folders
as the music and include it in the backup of your music files*, or copy
all of the files in ~/.cache/media-art/ (but NOT the sub-folders -
they'll be automatically regenerated when required).

Hope that helps.

* Your music files are important to you, and you are backing them up,
right? ;)

What do you mean? What is the best way to backup the data from Banshee,
or what is the best alternative application in case it breaks?
