I share Slatet's excitement, even without having tested the extension yet!
As an extension writer, we can add you to banshee-community-extensions
project in gitorious so you can add your code there, and it can be
included in the next community extensions packages out of the box.
Do you have a gitorious account?

Dear Paul:
Thank you for this incredible new extension! As musician with two bands
on SoundCloud (https://soundcloud.com/occurrences-in-rain and
https://soundcloud.com/the-elderbranch-campaign) it is wonderful to know
that a simple extension like this will enable my material to possibly be
heard by a wider audience. As an avid user of Banshee it is wonderful
to be able to easily access the artists I follow on SoundCloud within
the same application I use for listening to everything else.
I have installed the extension and performed some basic testing... So
far so good. No problems to report at all! One suggestion though. I
think it would be extremely useful to be able to browse SoundCloud by
genre as well as by individual artists.
I will be anxious to see what the future holds for the extension. Please
keep everyone posted as to its further development.

Hello fellow Banshee users,
I'd like to make available a small extension I've written for Banshee
that lets you stream a SoundCloud artist's tracks.
Its a first release and quite basic but I would like to see how useful
it would be for people. I love exploring SoundCloud and finding new
artists but I quickly become frustrated with their in-browser player
which, IMO, suffers from poor interface design and intermittent
dropouts in the stream.
I'm surprised at the 'barrier of entry' for writing an extension for
Banshee, there seems to be very little devekioer documentation and
how-to's out there to guide newbies through the jungle of code. Not
that the code layout is without rhyme or reason but it felt like
trying to move my way around a new city without any street signs to
guide me or any sense of municipalities/regions.
All I could scroung up were these two URLs:
http://www.paulcutler.org/blog/?p=1264 and
http://banshee-media-player.2283330.n4.nabble.com/How-to-write-my-first-Plugin-td2982966.html
Under the hood it grabs all the streaming URLs for each track and
stores them as radio streams.
Grab the source code and/or DLL for the extension here:

Thanks :)
