Re: [Banshee-List] are amazon mp3 downloads working?

Oddly, it seems like Amazon don't have a DRM policy (their music still claims to be "DRM Free") but the UK store's new "improved" interface limits you to 10 "authorised" devices for downloads from the Cloud Player (as well as forcing one-click purchasing and only supporting one download at a time in Linux!). I guess Banshee is still doing the old download mechanism, but Cloud Player works differently.

I've found some interesting artists on the Amazon store before now (especially over that Christmas period where they had thousands of freebies) but so far I've never paid for MP3s from them. As of the latest changes, I've now disabled the Amazon plugin and I *really* won't be buying from them in future.

Are there any alternative services that could be integrated to Banshee? I've looked at eMusic, but they don't seem to have a "no commitment" option, just monthly charges no matter how much you download. Oh, and something that isn't "US only" - this is the Internet, after all ;)

Thanks.

I had the same problem. I think it has to do with amazons new drm
policy. Since when I used the old mp3 downloader from amazon it also
didn't work, and the new downloader required me to authenticate my box. A
workaround is goto your cloud drive and download your music one song at
a time, then batch import it into banshee.

A few weeks ago I purchased some albums out of the Amazon mp3 store
and banshee downloaded them just fine. Since last week that doesn't

updated it to 2.5.1 without any luck.

You can try test this by going to the amazon mp3 store and try buy
the "Free Music from Rising Artists

album using banshee. Can anybody please try and let me know if this
    works for you?
