Its not a problem, the first thing we can do is try and identify your Linux distro. When you boot your machine up, what does the splash screen show? The distro usually identifies itself then. Alternatively if you can look for an accessories menu usually under applications-> accessories, you will find an app named "terminal " once you launch that app follow the link David sent then type the appropriate commands and upload the results here. My last suggestion would be to uninstall banshee from your computer and install it again. Now I can't give you direct instructions because Linux has so much variety and I have no idea what you are running on your machine, please be patient troubleshooting can be a pain. In the mean time you may want to try another music app to keep you going. There many out there.

I apologise I thought I had. It is running Linux OS and banshee was already
on it when I bought it, so I have no clue what kind it is. I am not familiar
with Linux at all. Thank you for your time.
