Hello David,
I have an eMusic account but I haven't used the Banshee extension to get music from it. I will add it to my to-do list to work through the process to see if I run into similar issues. However my eMusic plan doesn't reset until mid-February so it will take some time.
In the meantime, I have a few questions. First, does downloading work from the regular site, outside of Banshee?
Second, and more specifically to your question, when I use the regular site I see a big 'Download $6.99' button for an album or a button with a price like $0.79 for individual tracks. Next to these buttons I see a plus sign that, when clicked, has 'Save for later', 'Add to list' and 'Add to queue'.
Leaving aside that these are horribly ambiguous options, do you not see a 'Download' button? I'm assuming that you tried that and it didn't work. Does nothing appear to happen when you click the 'Download' button?
I have experienced problems in the past with .emx file association, unrelated to Banshee, where clicking 'Download' did not appear to do anything. The issue was that it had became tied to another application. For example, I tried to use Chrome but the file type was still 'owned' by Firefox since I had used Firefox in the past to download music from their site. It causes some weird behavior sometimes. Could something similar be happening here?

Hi,
For all the good a web search is doing me, eMusic downloads in Banshee
are trouble-free for everyone on the planet except me.
For me, they just aren't happening. By process of elimination, I'm
guessing that "add to queue" is the correct choice for music I want to
download from the eMusic site. Then I guess I'm supposed to have a .emx
file to point to to tell Banshee to download the music.
I'm not seeing the .emx file. I have no idea where it is, where it comes
from, or how I'm to create it.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
