Your build option are fine.
The fact that you need to start Banshee with dbus-launch makes me
think there's something wrong with your dbus setup. Maybe your session
bus is not started at login ?
Starting Banshee with dbus-launch means that it will be alone on its
own session bus, so it probably can't receive the messages about new
volumes added, like audio CDs.
