For your information, this is the same underlying problem as in this bug :
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=641515

I'll try to find a way to fix this in the lyrics extension. In the
meantime, to avoid the crash, you can start banshee with the
XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS environement variable set, but this might cause
some ugliness with the notification icon :

XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 banshee
