I have done this patch with Alex and it is working since 2 month. We just wait for review and some fix with gio current backend ;)

to follow news.
The big todo is have good GIO backend before ship this patch.
GIO backend currently have a bug introduce by a previous commit.
But if we revert commit, we gain a memory leak.
So complicated situation...
