There's an open bug report for this issue: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637717 so you can CC yourselves there if you want to stay up-to-date on any progress.

@L, you say that you used to have this problem with Sound Juicer as well?  Do you still have problems with the LAME encoder in Sound Juicer? I wasn't able to reproduce the problem with Rhythmbox, in my limited testing, but it's possible that this isn't specifically a Banshee bug.

Is this a know issue? I'm using LAME with VBR.
