@L, you say that you used to have this problem with Sound Juicer as well? Do you still have problems with the LAME encoder in Sound Juicer? I wasn't able to reproduce the problem with Rhythmbox, in my limited testing, but it's possible that this isn't specifically a Banshee bug.

Hi,
After a recent update of Banshee (and probably some ancillary
components), I started getting the same type of weird results I
used to get with Sound Juicer. Mainly, when I encode to MP3s, the
song duration is wrong. For example, a 4 minute file say it is
fourteen minutes long.
Is this a know issue? I'm using LAME with VBR.
