Hi I just installed Linux mint 10 onto my laptop and for some reason after I
downloaded banshee i cannot play songs..when I go onto youtube the videos
play perfectly fine and i can hear it perfectly, but when I double click a
song in banshee to play it, the song has an "x" to the left of the
name..also, next to the fast forward button in the top left hand corner, it
says idle.

Also, in the taskbar it says that the sound is fine

anybody know that the problem is??

you can try playing it in Totem to confirm that the file is okay, also runnibg  banshee-1 --debug will tell you what the specific error is.
